Affiliate Programs Archives

If you’ve been checking out this series of articles, you’ve seen how important it is for any serious affiliate marketer to have good web content. Good content can mean the difference between someone clicking onto your site and clicking away a moment later and someone staying for a while and then clicking through to buy the affiliate marketing product or service you’re trying to sell. But what if you just aren’t a very good writer? What if your mind is programmed for business, not English. Don’t worry, there are options for you.

Search the public domain. There are millions of articles that are currently in the public domain that you can use on your web site free of charge. A simple web search can bring up hundreds of these kinds of articles. And the best part is you can edit them, change them, alter them or do whatever you want to them so that they sound exactly like you want them to. You don’t have to worry about paying any authors or stepping on any toes. This is an excellent way to go if you don’t want to write content yourself.

You can pay companies to write content for you, and in most cases, it’s cheaper than you think. When you consider how important good web content is, paying someone a few dollars to write exactly what you need isn’t such a bad idea. Of course, some companies charge more than others and it always pays to shop around, but don’t shut yourself off to the idea of paying for content. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money and this is one of those cases if you don’t want to write your own web content.

Maybe the best choice of the three is to simply read and learn. Spend a week or two clicking around on the Internet and reading the web content on other affiliate websites. Take as much of that content in and then try to write in a similar style about the product you’re trying to sell. You don’t instantly become the best writer in the world this way, but studies have shown that the more you read, the better writer you’ll be. Experience pays and the more you know about how to write in this style, the easier it will be.

Having solid web content can’t be overstated. You will never have a truly successful affiliate marketing website unless you have good content for your affiliate marketing sites. If you can’t write it yourself, you do have other options, but the best thing you can do is to learn how to write in this style. It will be an investment that will pay off time and time again.

The key to creating successful ads on Google’s Adwords Program is Relevancy. In order to have a high click-through-rate, your ads have to be relevant to the keywords you are using.

Google Adwords Demo

The normal search engine rankings appear on the left just like any other search engine. The ads on the right hand side are paid ads through Adwords. The thing to pay attention to is the fact that the ads, which are ranking high for the particular keyword contain that keyword. This increases relevance and therefore increases the click-through-rate as well. (PPC mainly determines position of your ad, but relevance will determine click-through rate.) This is why you shouldn’t have just one ad that you dump a thousand keywords into for a campaign. How are you going to know what keywords were effective and which simply wasted your money?

Post A Google Adwords Ad With Specific Targeting

This may sound difficult, but really all it consists of is the following: Do a search in Google for the main keywords of the product you are planning on affiliating. The keywords should include mainly product specific keywords and phrases. The number one keyword or phrase to include is the product’s Brand Name or Title. This is because not everyone buys right away and when they return to finally purchase (Do a Search through Google) you can take credit for a pre-sold prospect with little to no effort.

Think about it Anyone who would click on an ad which is specifically targeting that product’s Brand Name or Title has already been to its salespage and is returning to either buy or investigate the product further Right? This is where you can collect commissions, without having to really work for them.

Watch Ads From Other Affiliates

Before you spend your hard-earned cash, check to make sure that this method is profitable. Do a search for the keyword in question and take note of what ads are currently being posted. Write down the ad and the address displayed within it. (Plus the keyword you searched for i.e. secretaffiliateweapon.com, affiliate weapon) Return to Google 5-6 days later and do a search for the same keyword and see if the same ad is still being published their. If you do not see it right off the bat, check the 2nd or 3rd page of Google’s search results.

If the ad still remains posted, then this ad is profitable and so is the keyword. (Few affiliates will continue to run any campaigns which are causing them to lose money.) Now you know that you will be able to pull sales with this keyword.

Believe it or not, you may have money slipping through your fingers right now Simply because you are not tracking your website’s activity. Tracking may sound difficult and time consuming, but with the available software today and free tools out there, you really have no reason to not track your web statistics.

Essentially, tracking is just recording how your promotional campaigns are progressing. Take for instance, you are making use of Google Adwords to promote a particular product review page. Pay-per-click advertising costs you money and if you do not pay attention, you may be wasting your hard earned cash. Statcounter, a free tool, can tell you not only how many visitors you have had today, but also where they came from, what keywords they used to find you, and many other stats.

Likewise, there are many high traffic websites out there that offer advertising on their sites for a price. How are you to know whether or not you are getting the most bang for your buck? The first time you pay for advertising on a particular site, watch the amount of click-throughs you get from that particular ad on your “came-from” statistics. (Also available on Statcounter.) Take the amount of visitors you receive and the amount you paid for the ad and you can calculate your basic cost-per-click. Sometimes advertising on privately owned sites can be more beneficial financially.

An idea that I you can put into use right now is creating different URLs for different promotions. Tracking doesn’t only have to target where visitors are coming from. You can also use tracking to determine which headline is the most profitable, which background catches a person’s eye, which buttons get the most clicks. The main idea here is conversions. The more traffic your site gets, the more accurate your test results will be, but in order to perform this task you will have to display both versions of the page simultaneously. The best way to do this is with a split test software. Sometimes these can cost quite a bit, that’s why I am offering you one for free. Get your Free Split Test Software.

Many techniques exist for tracking and you will find the ones that work best for you. Promotions cost money in most cases. By monitoring which promotional costs are the most productive you will decrease your costs, which will increase your profits. The main point here is to acknowledge the fact that not tracking your webstats is hurting your profits.
